LG Optimus 4X HD is the world’s first Quad-Core smartphone

LG was the first to introduce the dual-core smartphone with the Optimus 2X, and now the company has done it again by unveiling the world’s first quad-core smartphone. The LG Optimus 4X HD is the first ever handset to boast Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor.

The quad-core processor clocks at 1.5GHz and has four main CPU cores along with a fifth core for low power tasks, making it the world’s only smartphone-sized 4-plus-1 core processor fitted in a smartphone.

Other features include a 4.7-inch display with 720p resolution, 1GB DDR2 RAM, and runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform. The 8.9mm slim and sleek smartphone features a “prism-edged” design with enhanced materials and finish.
