Nokia Belle Feature Pack 1 – The Changelog

Although it wasn’t announced officially at the Mobile World Congress, Nokia has posted details about what is coming in the Feature Pack 1 of Nokia Belle on its official Nokia Conversion Blog

Coming out of the box with the Nokia 808 PureView, the update will also be made available for the Nokia 603, 700 and 701 smartphones in the coming months.
According to the blog post, here is what all is new to Nokia Belle, Feature Pack 1 -
  • Dolby ® Headphone and Dolby ® Digital Plus
  • Around 20 new and improved widgets
  • New and Faster browser with improved HTML 5 support
  • Latest version of Nokia Maps
  • Microsoft Apps (which are also available on Nokia Belle as an downloadable update)
  • Better Notifications Bar
  • Refreshed Multitasking Bar
And if you are a Nokia 700 or 701 user, there is a big news for you. With Nokia Belle, Feature Pack 1, your smartphone will become faster and more responsive as the processor speed on these smartphones will be increased from the current 1 GHz to 1.3 GHz. That is a 30% increase in processor speed! Wicked.
Although Nokia says Feature Pack 1 is not coming to the 1st Generation Symbian^3 & Anna devices, I cannot see what is stopping Nokia in releasing it for earlier devices. Nothing I have seen or read about the Feature Pack 1 seems to require the extra punch provided by the 2nd generation devices.
